Welcome to my corner of the web! I’m Stevie Harper, a married 44-year-old dad to two incredible boys; James (9) and George (7). My family is the center of my world, and everything I do is inspired by my love for them.
Being a hands-on dad is more than just a responsibility to me; it’s a privilege. I’m deeply passionate about positive parenting, a philosophy that guides the way I raise my children. For me, positive parenting is all about creating a loving, supportive environment where children feel safe to express themselves and grow into confident, kind and happy individuals.
At the heart of positive parenting is respect; respect for a child’s emotions, needs, and individuality. I believe that by nurturing a strong, trusting bond with our children, we can help them develop resilience, empathy, and a sense of self-worth.
In our home, we practice open communication, gentle guidance, and the power of leading by example. It’s not about perfection, but about progress; growing together as a family and learning from one another every day.
In addition to sharing my parenting experiences, I also explore the ways toys, games, and activities can enhance a child’s development. I’m a firm believer that learning happens best when it’s fun. That’s why I write about a wide range of topics, from the best learning toys for toddlers to creative activities that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence. Whether it’s finding the perfect educational toy or engaging in meaningful play, I love discovering new ways to support my children’s growth and development.
But my life isn’t just about positive parenting; it’s also about living life with purpose and passion. I have a deep love for sports, particularly climbing, which has become a huge part of my life. Living with Muscular Dystrophy has brought its share of challenges, but it’s also fueled my determination to push boundaries.
I’m currently training with the dream of representing Team GB at the LA28 Paralympics. Climbing has taught me invaluable lessons about perseverance, mental strength, and the importance of setting goals; lessons I carry with me in both my athletic pursuits and my role as a father.
Through this blog, I hope to inspire and connect with fellow parents, athletes, and anyone striving to create a life of balance, joy, and growth. Whether you’re here to read about positive parenting, find learning tools for your kids, or follow my journey to the Paralympics, I’m excited to share this adventure with you.
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you’ll stick around! If you would like me to cover a partilular topic or just want to say hi, then feel free to drop me a message to stevie@positiveparentinghq.com
